This one was extra special! I went to school with Shelby, and since we were in the same block for our Elementary Education degree at SCSU, we’ve been in classes together since freshman year. So, when I got the chance to capture Shelby and Tanner’s engagement, it felt like reconnecting with an old friend—and it was such a blast!

We spent a summer evening at Ney Park, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. It was my first time officially meeting Tanner, and I loved hearing more about their story, catching up with Shelby, and watching the two of them together. Their love is so easy to see, and they spent the whole session smiling, laughing, and making my job way too easy. One of my favorite spots from the session was the wildflower field—it turned out even better than I imagined! The light, the flowers, and the way Shelby and Tanner connected made it feel like pure magic. Capturing this chapter of their love story was such an honor. Shelby and Tanner’s joy is contagious, and I can’t wait to see all the incredible moments waiting for them in their future together!
