Getting Ready at White & Sable
The morning began at the gorgeous White & Sable venue, its clean lines and warm details setting the stage for a perfect summer wedding day. Sheila gathered with her favorite people in the light-filled bridal suite, surrounded by soft chatter, the hum of curling irons, and the sound of music playing quietly in the background. Across the way, Isaiah and the guys made themselves at home in the groom’s suite—getting ready, joking around, and fitting in a few rounds of video games before things got underway. There was a comfortable mix of excitement and calm. Those sweet hours before a wedding where everyone’s just soaking in the “about to happen” part of the day.
First Looks
Before Sheila and Isaiah saw each other, she shared a first look with her dad, Mike. The rain was still coming down outside, so we found a beautiful spot indoors where Mike could see his daughter as a bride for the first time. It was a simple, genuine moment, one that needed no extra staging. Soon after, it was Isaiah’s turn. When Isaiah turned to see Sheila, the look on his face said it all, love, admiration, and just a little disbelief that this day had finally come. They caught each other up on the morning’s happenings, exchanged a few quiet laughs, and took a deep breath together before portraits began.
Bridal Party Energy & Family Time
Once Sheila and Isaiah had their first portraits together, their bridal party joined in. This group was large, lively, and full of personality, exactly the kind of crew you want with you on your wedding day. As the rain cleared, we headed outside to finish the photos. The sun was out and the fresh air and warm light after the storm felt like a gift. Before the ceremony, we gathered both families in the ceremony space for portraits. Having everyone together in the same place made it easy, and the photos came together seamlessly. With the last family shot taken, everyone had a few minutes to regroup before the big moment.
An Emotional Walk Down the Aisle
The ceremony began with the room full of family and friends waiting in anticipation. As the music shifted and the doors opened, Isaiah’s emotions came to the surface. Tears in his eyes as Sheila walked toward him. Their friend Trina officiated, bringing an extra layer of warmth and familiarity to the ceremony. She spoke about who Sheila and Isaiah are, not just as a couple, but as people, and how they show up for the people they love. The two shared personal vows that struck the perfect balance of humor and sincerity, a reflection of their relationship in every way.
Cocktails and the Room Transformation
After the kiss and the joyful recessional, guests headed outdoors for cocktail hour while the ceremony space was transformed into the reception area. This was the first time the venue had done a same-room flip, and it came together beautifully. Guests filtered back in to find a warm, inviting space with tables set and dinner ready to be served. Sheila’s dad, Mike, and Isaiah’s mom, Kirsten, each shared a few words to welcome everyone before the meal. Plates of delicious lasagna from Donatelli’s made their way around the room, and the happy chatter of full tables filled the space.
Golden Hour & Words from the Heart
Just as dinner wrapped, the light outside turned golden, soft and warm. We slipped out for a short walk with Sheila and Isaiah to capture a few final portraits as the sun dipped low. After the earlier rain, it felt like the perfect reward: a glowing sky and a few quiet moments for the newlyweds. Back inside, speeches began. Laura and Jackie, matron and maid of honor, shared stories from years of friendship with Sheila, mixing in plenty of laughs alongside heartfelt well-wishes. Best man Abe, Isaiah’s brother, spoke about growing up together and seeing Isaiah and Sheila's paths cross.
An Unforgettable Night on the Dance Floor
The celebration shifted to the foyer, where the band was ready to kick things off. Sheila and Isaiah’s first dance was a fun, choreographed number that suited them perfectly, lighthearted, bubbly, and unmistakably in love.
Afterward, they combined the traditional parent dances into one shared moment, father/daughter and mother/son together, which had everyone smiling. Then The Shirts and Skins Band took over, and the dance floor filled instantly. From start to finish, the energy never dipped. The night closed with the same feeling that had been there since the morning, surrounded by their favorite people, laughing often, and loving deeply. Rain or shine, Sheila and Isaiah’s wedding was a celebration of exactly who they are and the community they’ve built together.
Sheila and Isaiah, thank you for inviting me into a day that overflowed with love, intention, and the best kind of laughter. May your marriage be exactly like your wedding day: a safe place for deep care, a playground for big laughter, and a front-row seat to each other’s best moments.
