There is something so special about an October wedding in Minnesota. The crisp fall air, the changing leaves, and the cozy feeling of gathering everyone you love in one place make this time of year such a beautiful season to get married. Austin and Trinity’s wedding day on October 17, 2026, had all of that and so much more. From happy tears during the getting-ready moments to a ceremony filled with emotion, portraits along the river, and a dance floor full of their favorite people, their day was the perfect mix of heartfelt and fun. Even with the wind making its presence known throughout the day, nothing could take away from the excitement surrounding these two. Everyone was ready to celebrate, and it was clear just how much love Austin and Trinity have surrounding them.

As a photographer, I love getting to document days like theirs. The little in-between moments, the happy tears, the laughter during portraits, and the people who have played such an important role in a couple’s story are what make every wedding unique. Austin and Trinity’s day was full of those moments, and I’m so excited to share a little look back at their October celebration!

A Morning Filled with Excitement

The morning began with the girls getting their hair and makeup done as the excitement continued to build. There is always a different kind of energy during the getting-ready portion of a wedding day. Everyone is excited, the timeline is slowly unfolding, and before long, it starts to sink in that the wedding day everyone has been looking forward to is finally here! Trinity and her girls enjoyed those last few hours before the ceremony. These moments might seem small compared to the big events of the day, but they are such an important part of the story. Years from now, I hope these photos bring back the feeling of being surrounded by your best friends, getting ready for one of the biggest days of your life.Once Trinity was ready to get into her dress, it was time for one of the sweetest moments of the morning. After slipping into her wedding dress, Trinity shared a first look with her bridesmaids and her soon-to-be mother-in-law. And there were happy tears! Watching the people closest to you see you as a bride for the first time is such a special experience. These are the people who have been part of your story, who have cheered you on, and who get to stand beside you as you begin this new chapter. Seeing their reactions makes the moment even more meaningful. The happy tears and smiles said it all. Trinity looked beautiful, and the excitement in the room was contagious. There is something so sweet about seeing the people you love get emotional over a moment that means so much to you. Sometimes the best memories happen when everyone has a chance to slow down and simply enjoy being together.

A Quiet First Look with Dad

Once we made our way to the venue, Trinity had another special first look waiting for her. This time, it was with her dad. While the morning had been full of excitement and happy tears, this moment felt a little calmer. It was a chance for the two of them to take a breath and share a few minutes together before the day really got underway.

There is something especially meaningful about a dad seeing his daughter in her wedding dress. No matter how grown up she is or how long the wedding has been planned, there is still that moment when it all becomes real.

These father-daughter moments are some of my favorites to photograph because they don't need much direction. A look, a smile, a hug, or a few quiet words can say so much. It was a sweet pause before the ceremony, and a reminder that while a wedding day is about two people becoming husband and wife, it is also about celebrating all the relationships that helped bring them to this point.

An October Ceremony with All the Emotions

October brought plenty of wind on Austin and Trinity's wedding day! But even with the breeze blowing and the fall weather doing its thing, everyone was in good spirits and ready for a fun, memorable celebration. And then it was time for the ceremony. Austin and Trinity chose to save their first look for the aisle, which made this moment even more special. While a private first look can give couples time together before the ceremony, there is something undeniably emotional about seeing each other for the first time as one walks down the aisle. As Trinity began making her way toward Austin, his reaction said everything. Immediate tears. It was one of those moments where you could feel the emotion. All the anticipation, all the planning, and all the excitement of the day came together as Austin saw his bride walking toward him. And Trinity looked beautiful!

I love when couples choose to save this moment for the ceremony because it allows them to experience it right alongside their family and friends. Everyone gets to witness that first reaction, and the emotion becomes part of the memories shared by the people who mean the most to them. Despite the wind outside, the focus was entirely on the two of them and the commitment they were about to make.

Heartfelt Vows and Becoming Husband and Wife

The ceremony was filled with so much love as Austin and Trinity stood together and promised to spend their lives with one another. They exchanged heartfelt vows, placed rings on each other's fingers, and officially became husband and wife. There is something so meaningful about wedding vows. They are more than just words spoken during a ceremony. They are promises about the life two people are choosing to build together, through all the ordinary days, the exciting milestones, and the unexpected moments that life brings. The expressions, the tears, the way they look at one another, and the reactions of their family and friends all help preserve the feeling of the moment. And then, just like that, they were married! Austin and Trinity made their way back down the aisle with the biggest smiles, ready to celebrate the beginning of their next chapter. The nerves and anticipation had turned into pure happiness, and it was time to enjoy being newlyweds.

Family Portraits Full of Meaning

After the ceremony, we began family portraits, making time to capture Austin and Trinity with the people who have loved and supported them throughout their lives. We photographed sweet moments with grandparents, siblings, and parents, giving the newlyweds a chance to celebrate with their families while documenting these important relationships. Family portraits are such an important part of a wedding gallery. While the couple portraits and candid moments often get a lot of attention, these are the photographs that families will return to for generations. They bring everyone together in one place, at one moment in time, to remember the people who were there to celebrate. Austin and Trinity had so many people worth celebrating, and it was wonderful to see them surrounded by family as they stepped into married life.

Celebrating with Their Favorite People

Next up was bridal party time! Austin and Trinity were surrounded by a crew of their very best friends, the people they wanted standing beside them as they celebrated this milestone. Bridal party portraits are always a fun part of the day because they give everyone a chance to relax, laugh, and let a little personality shine through.

We captured the classic group photos, along with plenty of fun moments that showed off the friendships behind the celebration. These are the friends who have been part of the stories, the memories, and the years leading up to the wedding. They have shared laughter, supported the couple through different seasons of life, and were now there to celebrate one of their biggest milestones. Of course, we also took time to honor someone who was deeply missed.

Honoring Trevor's Memory

One especially meaningful part of the day was the way Austin and Trinity honored Austin's brother, Trevor, who had passed away. Trevor was remembered as part of the celebration through his place of honor as best man in memory. Although he couldn't physically be there to stand beside his brother, Austin and Trinity made sure he remained part of the day. Moments like these can hold so many emotions at once. Weddings are joyful celebrations, but they can also make the absence of someone we love feel especially noticeable. There is happiness in the room, alongside the wish that someone important could be there to experience it all.

Making space for Trevor's memory was a beautiful reminder that love doesn't disappear when someone is no longer physically present. The people who shape our lives remain part of our stories, and remembering them can make meaningful moments even more special. It was a heartfelt tribute to Austin's brother and a reminder of how important family is to these two.

River Views and Beautiful Fall Colors

After family and bridal party portraits, it was time for Austin and Trinity to spend a little time together for their bride and groom photos. And the fall scenery did not disappoint! The beautiful river and changing autumn colors created such a lovely backdrop for their portraits. Even with the wind making things a little more interesting, the setting was full of classic Minnesota fall beauty. There is something about fall light, colorful leaves, and the natural landscape that makes this season such a favorite for weddings. The colors add so much warmth and texture to photographs, creating a timeless feel that works beautifully for an October celebration. After the excitement of the ceremony, the family photos, and all the people they had been greeting throughout the day, this was an opportunity to take a breath and soak in the fact that they were finally married.

A Warm Welcome to the Reception

Once portraits wrapped up, it was time to head inside and get the reception underway. After a full day of emotions, outdoor portraits, and plenty of excitement, everyone was ready to celebrate indoors. The newlyweds made their grand entrance, bringing a fresh wave of energy into the room as guests welcomed them into the reception. The celebration continued with a delicious dinner, and let's be honest, who doesn't love mac and cheese? It was a fun addition to a meal shared with family and friends, giving everyone a chance to settle in, enjoy their food, and get ready for the evening ahead. One of my favorite things about receptions is how they bring everyone together in a different way. The ceremony is often emotional and reflective, while the reception gives everyone the chance to relax, catch up, share stories, and celebrate the couple. For Austin and Trinity, the evening was full of meaningful moments, starting with the speeches.

Speeches Filled with Love, Laughter, and Memories

The speeches began with Gabbie, Trinity's maid of honor, who kicked things off with so much love for the newlyweds. Maid of honor speeches are always a chance to hear a side of the bride's story that not everyone gets to see. They bring out the memories, the friendship, and all the little details that make a relationship special. Gabbie shared her love for Trinity and helped set the tone for an evening filled with heartfelt words. Next, Adam took the microphone and brought some fun stories into the mix. Of course, there were plenty of laughs, but he also shared something especially meaningful about Trevor. He spoke about how proud Trevor would be of Austin.

It was such a powerful sentiment to hear during a day that already held so much meaning. Even in his absence, Trevor's place in Austin's life was evident, and remembering him during the speeches allowed everyone to share in that connection. Finally, Trinity's dad, Scot, wrapped up the speeches with even more emotion. There were a few more tears, plenty of love, and so much pride in watching Austin and Trinity grow into the people they are today. Each speech brought something different to the evening, but they all shared one common theme: how deeply loved these two are. From the funny stories to the heartfelt reflections, it was clear that Austin and Trinity have built relationships with people who genuinely care about them and are excited to see what the future holds.

Cake Cutting and a Little Cake Smashing

After the speeches, it was time for cake! Austin and Trinity shared the traditional cake-cutting moment, but things got a little playful when a bit of cake ended up being smashed in the face. Because what's a wedding without at least a little fun? These are the moments that make wedding days feel personal. Not everything needs to be perfectly serious or carefully planned. Sometimes the best memories come from laughing at the unexpected and enjoying the moment together. The cake cutting gave everyone another chance to gather around the couple, cheer them on, and celebrate before the dance floor opened for the rest of the evening.

First Dance as Husband and Wife

One of the sweetest moments of the night was Austin and Trinity's first dance. After a day filled with family, friends, and nonstop activity, the dance floor gave them a chance to slow down and focus on each other again.

First dances are always special because they mark the beginning of so many new experiences as a married couple. It's the first dance at their wedding, but it also represents the many dances, celebrations, and everyday moments they will share in the years ahead. With their guests gathered around them, Austin and Trinity shared a quiet moment together in the middle of a very full day. The smiles, the emotion, and the happiness on their faces made it such a beautiful part of the reception.

A Special Dance with Dad

Next came Trinity's father-daughter dance with Scot. After his heartfelt speech earlier in the evening, it was another opportunity for the two of them to share a meaningful moment together. Father-daughter dances can be emotional in a completely different way from the ceremony. They celebrate the relationship that has been there long before the wedding planning began, and they recognize the many years of memories that led to this day.

For Scot, it was a chance to celebrate his daughter as she began a new chapter of life. For Trinity, it was a moment to share with someone who has been part of her story since way before the wedding planning began. It was a sweet reminder that even as life changes, the love and relationships that have shaped us remain an important part of who we are.

The Dance Floor Was Full!

Once the formal dances wrapped up, it was time to get the party started! The music picked up, guests filled the dance floor, and the evening turned into exactly the kind of celebration everyone had been waiting for.

There was dancing, laughter, and plenty of fun as friends and family celebrated Austin and Trinity. After such an emotional day, it was wonderful to see everyone let loose and enjoy the night together. These candid reception moments are always some of my favorites to photograph. You get the big group of friends dancing together, the family members who don't miss a single song, and the unexpected moments that happen when everyone is simply having a good time. The dance floor was full, the energy was high, and it was the perfect way to finish a wedding day that had already given everyone so many memories.

Austin and Trinity's October 17th wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best wedding days are about so much more than the details. They are about the people who show up for you. The family members who have watched you grow. The friends who have been beside you through every season. The loved ones who are missed but never forgotten. And the person standing across from you, ready to make a lifetime of promises. Even the windy October weather became part of the memories, adding a little extra character to a day that was joyful from beginning to end.

Austin and Trinity, thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding day and capture these memories for you. May your marriage be filled with laughter, deep love, meaningful memories, and the same incredible support that surrounded you on your wedding day.
