September in Minnesota can be unpredictable when it comes to weather, but Dylan and Brooklyn’s wedding day was proof that even a little rain can’t dampen the joy of two people so perfectly matched. Their day on September 6th, 2025, was one filled with laughter, tears, family, and the kind of celebration that makes everyone feel part of something special. From a cozy morning of getting ready at the AmericInn, to dodging rain showers at the farm, to dancing the night away in a barn lit with love and laughter, Dylan and Brooklyn’s wedding day was nothing short of unforgettable.

A Relaxed Start at the Hotel

The day began in the best way, slow, calm, and filled with anticipation. Brooklyn and her girls gathered at the AmericInn, where makeup brushes and curling irons worked their magic. There was a peaceful buzz in the room, with little moments of laughter sprinkled in as Brooklyn got pampered. I slipped in to capture the finishing touches of hair and makeup, documenting the hugs, smiles, and tiny details that make mornings like these so memorable. Meanwhile, just down the hall, Dylan and his crew were easing into their morning in a very different style. There was less mascara and more mischief as the boys started getting into their wedding day attire — jeans paired with gray vests for a perfectly rustic, laid-back look that fit the farm setting to a T. They were rowdy, playful, and more than ready to celebrate their friend.

With the girls polished and the boys buttoned up, it was time to head toward the farm where the rest of the day would unfold.

First Look by the Barn

The farm was already buzzing with activity as Dylan and his groomsmen arrived first, making sure everything was set. The girls soon followed, and it was time for one of the sweetest moments of the day, the first look.

Dylan stood in front of the barn, a few nerves but ready to see his bride. Brooklyn stepped out of the car, her gown flowing and her eyes locked on the man waiting for her. As she tapped him on the shoulder, Dylan turned, and in that instant, time seemed to pause. Tears welled up, smiles stretched wide, and for just a moment, the world shrank to only the two of them. After letting the emotions settle, we captured some beautiful portraits of Dylan and Brooklyn around the barn. Their love came through in every frame, tender glances, playful laughs, and the kind of comfort only best friends turned soulmates can share.

Bridal Party Shenanigans

Next up, the bridal party joined in, and the energy immediately shifted to fun mode. This crew was full of personality, the girls laughing together, while the boys were busy proving that rowdy and entertaining is their default setting. Family portraits came next, filled with proud smiles and a few happy tears from parents and grandparents. The farm made the perfect rustic, country backdrop for Dylan and Brooklyn.

As we wrapped up portraits, the sky began to darken. We knew rain was coming, and while the plan was to start the ceremony soon, Minnesota weather had other ideas.

Waiting Out the Rain

The first drops began to fall just as the ceremony space was filling up. Guests grabbed their drinks and huddled into the barn to wait it out, turning the pause into an impromptu cocktail hour. The sound of rain hitting the roof created a cozy atmosphere, and while no couple plans for weather delays, Dylan and Brooklyn rolled with it beautifully. When it seemed clear again, everyone began heading back outside — only for another short burst of rain to sweep through. Back into the barn some of the guests went, this time with even more laughter, as if the day itself was playing a little game of hide and seek with the sun. Finally, the clouds parted just long enough for the ceremony to begin.

A Sweet and Simple Ceremony

The ceremony space outside the barn quickly filled with family and friends, all eager to finally see Dylan and Brooklyn say their vows. The wedding party made their way down the aisle, one by one, until it was Brooklyn’s turn. First, she was escorted by her grandpa, who proudly walked her part of the way before handing her off to her step-dad for the rest of the walk. It was a touching moment that reflected just how much love surrounds Brooklyn.

When she reached Dylan, the smiles returned. The ceremony itself was short and sweet, heartfelt vows, the exchange of rings, and even a funny little stumble over the words that had everyone laughing. And just like that, under clearing skies, Dylan and Brooklyn were officially married!

Cocktails, Conversations, and Country Charm

With the ceremony complete, guests made their way back to the barn for cocktail hour. The bridal party led the way with a lively entrance that set the tone for the rest of the evening, high energy and ready to celebrate!

The barn was filled with the sound of chatter, clinking glasses, and the occasional burst of laughter as guests mingled. Some paused for photos, others grabbed a drink, and everywhere you looked there were smiles.

Dinner & Speeches

Dinner was served, and it was every bit as delicious as you’d expect from a Minnesota barn wedding. Pulled pork was the star of the show, and judging by the second (and third) helpings, it was a clear crowd favorite.

After plates were cleared, it was time for speeches. The maid of honor and best man each took the microphone, sharing sweet stories about the couple and heartfelt words about how perfectly they fit together. A few other parents and groomsmen also chimed in, sprinkling in both laughter and encouragement. It was clear that Dylan and Brooklyn are surrounded by a community of people who not only love them but truly admire who they are as a couple.

A Rainy Sunset Session

Before moving into the evening’s festivities, we attempted to sneak outside for sunset portraits. The golden light peeked through the clouds just enough to tease us before, you guessed it, another rain shower rolled in.

But instead of frustration, Dylan and Brooklyn laughed, embraced the moment, and made the best of it. We captured some of my favorite portraits of the day, messy, joyful, romantic, and undeniably real. Rain or shine, their love was glowing.

The Shoe Game & First Dances

Back inside, the mood shifted to playful as Dylan and Brooklyn sat back-to-back for the shoe game. Guests roared with laughter as the newlyweds raised shoes in response to questions about their relationship. It was lighthearted, fun, and the perfect lead-in to the evening dances. The first dance between Dylan and Brooklyn was sweet and intimate, their smiles lighting up the room as they swayed together as husband and wife.

Brooklyn then shared dances with her grandpa and step-dad, each moment full of love and gratitude. Dylan followed with a tender mother-son dance that had more than a few guests misty-eyed.

A Barn Dance to Remember

And then, it was time to really kick things off. The DJ turned up the music, the lights dimmed, and the dance floor filled almost instantly. From little kids to grandparents, everyone joined in, moving, shaking, and laughing the night away. The barn echoed with music, stomping feet, and the kind of joy that only happens at a wedding. Guests danced, chatted, and celebrated under the rafters of the barn, while outside, the rain finally gave way to a calm night. The dance floor never emptied. Proof that Dylan and Brooklyn’s people know how to party.

Dylan and Brooklyn’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that weddings aren’t about perfect weather or flawless schedules. They’re about two people committing their lives to one another surrounded by the people they love most.
